Right before Sunrise

Shadows at the water’s edge

Ducks drift aimlessly

Mist rises in the distance

Shrill shrieks pierce the morning’s calm

dawn filters down through a morning haze

filtered dawn

dawn drawn through a slender read

dawn as a myopic God

dawn as an unfinished mirror

needing only the sun to complete it

at dawn, brilliant knowing tongues come down to still waters lap up the luxury

of a mirror which is unmade each night

and remade amidst fly catchers and morning dew

finding a dead dragon fly trapped in a hot car all the live long day

it must have suffered those last few hours of its life

it is perfected in death

graceful, transparent, aerodynamic wings

a beautiful bug

a predator that hunts no more on this world

dawn like blushing steel

turned toward cherry by the mere knowledge that the sun is coming

but what if it is not enough?
then you will need to work harder.
but what if it is not in time?
then you will need to work faster.
what if I do not know how?
you will need to learn.
but what if….?
work now. later, you will know.

Apparently I am on the scrap heap today. Oh well...
